What major are you interested in?

Do you mean Fall 2026 admission?

Public Policy/government
Yeah I mean admitted Fall 25’ but starting freshmen year fall 26’

I would guess that you have a chance, but it’s a low probability admit (less than 20%), just like it is for almost all strong candidates. If your class rank is top 25% with the academic achievements you’re describing, you probably attend a high school where the guidance counselor can chance you better, and/or there will be Scoir/Naviance data which can share some of your school’s history in terms of getting in there. Make sure to use the resources that are available at your high school.

Has your family run the Net Price Calculator (NPC) at Georgetown to see if it will be affordable for you?

Do you have schools on your list that are extremely likely to accept you, that will be affordable without loans, and that you would be happy to attend for four years? If you don’t have any schools that meet all three criteria and would like suggestions, let us know your budget, what you want in a college experience, and what attracts you to Georgetown, and folks would be happy to provide suggestions.

We did the Gtown price calculator and my parents would be paying $20k-ish per year. Yes I also have George Washington Uni and University of Georgia at the top of my list.

Are you a Georgia resident? If not, I would not consider UGA an extremely likely admit (by extremely likely, I mean 80+% chance of admission). GW (and American) are also known as wanting a lot of demonstrated interest from high stat applicants, as they don’t like to be considered a backup for Georgetown. So, although I’d consider it likely (60+%) you’d be admitted to GW if you show sufficient interest, I don’t think I’d feel safe enough to consider it 80+%.

I agree you are plausibly qualified for Georgetown so can go ahead and apply. I also agree there is a good chance you won’t be accepted so need good alternative options, including some very likely to admit you.

If you tell us more about what you are really looking for in a college experience, both academically and non-academically, we can make a lot of suggestions for you to consider.
