ECs: Model UN chair, Philosophy club officer. two time varsity cross country and soccer player. I play in the local youth orchestra and have won major competitions for solos in the county level. I also was on the 4th place academic decathlon team in California two years ago, and received seven medals at the county competition which my team took first in.
I have also been in my counties honor band for the las five years and have consistently received a superior rating in local solo festivals. Regarding sports I was named the most improved runner and best offensive player last year, being picked by my coaches
You have impressively touched almost all the academic bases and your application is appropriate for all of these colleges for that reason alone. Your proficiency in Spanish is notable. To distinguish your application, you should express to the admissions committees which of your extracurricular activities you will be activately pursuing in college. Haverford seems to emphasize GPA slightly more than your other three schools, so your chances there may be particularly good.
I second the recommendation to apply for Questbridge. Your stats and EC’s look competitive but Questbridge is a major boost. We just came back from move in day/orientation at Pomona yesterday. At the welcoming speech, the Dean of Admissions said that 51 out of the 401 enrolled freshmen came in through Questbridge. At the parent activities, it seemed like everybody we talked to was the parent of a recruited athlete. I’m sure that wasn’t actually true but it felt like it! It made us feel extra lucky that our unhooked daughter got admitted.
