Legacy at Princeton, UPENN (not pictured above), Harvard (Grad)

I would say you are on the right track, just load up on calculus and perhaps get involved in a sort of finance club or intern at a bank over summer. Legacy will help you no doubt so apply EA for Princeton. Please chance me back @ my newer thread (you will see quite a few similarities between our resumes).

Awesome thanks @hopefulRomanian‌ my school does not have a finance club, but I am vice president of the future business leaders of america, and I was hoping to bring finance aspects like a stock market simulator to the club…would that be a good idea?

I will chance back…for those that see this

I would shape your essay around your passion for finance and why you were so involved with your ECs. You should be good at Princeton, but Harvard and Yale are always a reach. While Princeton is just as selective, you have legacy there. You fit their academic requirements, at this point it just depends on your essay. chance me please

It’s all on your essays make them unique as possible and start early. Make sure u choose ur recs wisely too. You stand a chance but it is a ivy after all.
I would say low-mid reaches

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1667312-chance-me-please-top-tier-colleges.html#latest</a></p>

I would argue that it difficult to write an essay about your passion for an academic subject and make it sound personal (but if that works for you, go for it)

See this forum for advice on the topic: <a href=“Note from my daughter's school re: Common App essay - #25 by shawnspencer - Parents Forum - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/17433012</a>
In particular, post #24 has some good links and stuff you could see as samples ;)

Legacy at harvard helps alot my dads an admissions officer there.

Legacy won’t help unless it’s a well-paying one. Btw, Princeton and the other schools you mentioned like 34+, but your ECs are very much on the right track. Get a bunch of 5s and As on those APs and you’ll be good. Try to increase your EC depth in the next few years. Quality > Quantity. Most kids who got into sub-10% acceptance rate schools this year from my high school had about 4/5 ECs on their app (they had massive accolades on each one though).

Chanced you @jsteeezzz‌

@AlwaysBorderline‌ I chanced you…

@jeremys600 my parents went to Business School and Faculty Education, but not undergrad…does that still help?

@Classof2018app‌ Thanks for the advice! I agree that depth will be important…do you have any specific ideas? I had an idea for example…Model UN at my school is only open to Sophomores and up…so i was thinking of starting Junior Model UN…a lightweight version of model UN…for freshman to practice and get ready to try out for the real team

@151Andrew151‌ , your ECs and awards are really good and your GPA is stellar. Make sure that you mention your legacy in your essays. I would just recommend that you get your ACT to 34+.
Best of Luck!

Tbh, anything is viable as long as you are putting in a lot of hours and getting something out of it. A lot of people ask me “what kind of ECs do colleges want to see?”. The truth is that colleges couldn’t care less about the specific subject. If they only sought students with a specific set of ECs, then the college would have absolutely no diversity. When I went to admitted students days for some of my colleges, I heard about a variety of ECs: from sports and debates to ESL teachers, software engineers and class presidents. You just have to find something that you’re passionate about and apply yourself in that field. If you see Model UN and debate as something you’re passionate about, then go for it.

Does it matter how many times you take the ACT?

H-lower reach
Y-low reach (I know a lot of friends that got in that I never expected tbh)
P-lower reach
S-reach
M-reach

Though honestly you have a good chance. Advice and Criticism is pretty much keep up the hard work and try to break 34 on the ACT. You’ll be as good as gold as anyone else. Por favor?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1668664-mit-rsi.html#latest</a></p>

@151Andrew151‌ No i do not believe they care how many times you take for example take UPenn’s website: “We consider the best combination of SAT components, but require that all testing scores be sent to us. Taking the SAT more than once does not hurt your chances.” Honestly if they do this for sat why wouldnt they do it for act

@pieguy321‌ when you wrote por favor I laughed…! I’ll go chance you now

Ivys are reaches for everyone but you look like a strong competitor. Just remember, essays and ecs are what make it or break it.
