<p>Tbh, anything is viable as long as you are putting in a lot of hours and getting something out of it. A lot of people ask me “what kind of ECs do colleges want to see?”. The truth is that colleges couldn’t care less about the specific subject. If they only sought students with a specific set of ECs, then the college would have absolutely no diversity. When I went to admitted students days for some of my colleges, I heard about a variety of ECs: from sports and debates to ESL teachers, software engineers and class presidents. You just have to find something that you’re passionate about and apply yourself in that field. If you see Model UN and debate as something you’re passionate about, then go for it. </p>
