Chance me for late application to Phillips Academy Andover!

Hi, I’m a current freshman hoping to reclass as a 9th grader again or to apply to be a sophomore year for PHILLIPS ACADEMY ANDOVER. Unfortunately, the deadline has passed; but fortunately, they just opened a second round of admissions. I’m on financial aid (but the process is need-blind, so I don’t think that matters too much), and I’m applying to a boarding student. I would appreciate any advice; please chance me!!!

Below is really just my CV, but on my Candidate Profile, I emphasized my passion for neuroscience research and writing and my leadership skills.

(Also, I know the tag doesn’t match to my thread, but I’m new here and I didn’t know what to put lol. Sorry!)

You are an outstanding candidate, but not all outstanding candidates get in. Furthermore, their class is already full and this second round of applications will only be to fill spots on the waiting list, so while you may be accepted to the waiting list, there is also no guarantee you will get off the waiting list. So, you’re chances are slim (as are most people’s chances due to the low acceptance rate). The good thing is they aren’t 0% and if you don’t get in you are well prepared to apply again next year (although, I would also suggest casting a much wider net).

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by “casting a wider net”?

Apply to more than one school, and perhaps some that aren’t quite as competitive.

I would add…meet the application deadlines…
