Chance me for middlesex, choate,hotchkiss,lawrenceville,milton

Hi this is my first post on here. Im applying for year 10 (grade 9) as a year 9 ( grade 8).

Race: Asian female
Region:HK
Gender:F

Standarized tests:
SSAT:full marks
Toefl: 112

Grades:

During year 7, year 8 my grades were improving, my school uses 8 as the full points, and ive been mostly achieving 6s,7s, but i did get a few 5s and 4s. So my grades aren’t the best of the best.

Interviews:
Middlesex was really nice, we talked for 40 something minutes? But there is little acceptance to this school from asia

Choate,Hotchkiss,Lawrenceville were all pretty nice, Milton’s interviewer really likes my current school ( top in HK ), not applying for financial aid btw

EC’s

Taekwondo- black belt, 8 years of experience and also bronze for top regional competition

Swimming- Recreational, but had achieved few medals(gold) before, also 8 years of experience

Tennis- One year, but in one of the top teams of the region

Debate - 3-4 years, both chinese and english, speaker awards in indo pacific and asia pacific, best speaker in chinese debate, team finished third in national comp

Research for ethnic minorites in Hong Kong, been volunteer for a year, visited schools, research paper is posted by significant organizations (scmp,yp etc.)

Essays:

Pretty nice, tied them to volunteer and me, strengths, weaknesses in storylike manners

Reccomendations:

Math and English, Humanities teacher are all really nice and like me, but they only know me for a few months because we change teachers every year level. Counselor as well, none of my counselor have stayed for more than a year. ( Was advisory represnetative for one year).

Thank you so much for skimming through my basic application!

Since your application packages are already in, there is not much you can do at this point––unless you positioned yourself as an athletic recruit. If L’ville happens to need a female swimmer, then that could be your hook.

Your SSAT profile is likely to impress academic powerhouses like L’ville and Milton, especially if your interviews went well.

Speech and debate is big at Hotchkiss, so if you spoke well during your interview and convinced them, then your chances should be good. They do accept a few kids from your country per year, as does Choate. Transportation between Choate and JFK is relatively straightforward, hence there is a significant presence of international kids on campus (just like L’ville).

MX is indeed the least diverse school on your list. Most kids there are from MA, NH, and CT. They accept primarily NE kids who are more Humanities bent, who are either great writers or aspire to be. The school is small and much less international than its peers, but they seemed content and do not see any reason to change (yet).

Best of luck, and please keep us posted on your acceptances!

Thanks so much!!! I’m really scared for results as my grades aren’t the top of the school.
