Thank you! do you think I have a chance at UF?

I interpret “only two A- in AP classes” as meaning that everything else is either an A or an A+. I do not expect that two A- grades will be enough to stop an in-state student from being accepted to U.Florida.

With a 24% acceptance rate I do not think that UF is a safety. However, I think that with great grades, an SAT score that is slightly over their median score, an ACT score that is slightly better still, and being in-state, then your chances are relatively good. IMHO the University of Florida is a very good university and is very much worth an application in your case.

Also, as long as medical school is a possibility finding an affordable undergraduate school is important.

I think that getting an EA application into U.Florida in your case is a very good plan. It is a great school if you do get accepted and I am not convinced that you should pay more for any other school unless you have the full cost of 8 years of university already fully covered.

I wish you the best.

Does this mean all A grades?

Since your HS GPA weighting is the same as what UF recalculates, Student Profile - University of Florida indicates that your 4.69 UF-weighted GPA is close to the top of the middle 50% of 4.5-4.7, and your 33 ACT is within the middle 50% of 31-34, and your 1430 SAT is within the middle 50% of 1380-1510 (your 33 ACT corresponds to 1450-1480 SAT).

However, your UF-weighted GPA and ACT are on the lower edge of the middle 50% ranges for those admitted to honors.

Yes I had all As in every class except two a minuses in junior year that were in ap classes

So unweighted is 4.0 if HS GPA is calculated without using +/-, probably around 3.96 or so if HS GPA is calculated with +/-.

What safeties, matches, and reaches should I apply to ?

It’s difficult to make a list without a budget. Are you full pay, or will you qualify for need based aid? Have you run the net price calculators at the schools on your list to get cost estimates?

Do keep in mind that the University of Florida can be quite competitive for premed:

you’re looking for a quieter target/safety, consider FAU honors college (at Jupiter campus): MPHP | Florida Atlantic University

I will not qualify for need based aid. I have run the net price calculators, and I will have to pay in full. But I do qualify for the bright futures program at all Florida schools which covers the full cost. However, I am able to afford out of state universities.
