<p>My academics aren’t exactly on par with NYU but I feel that my disadvantages and the way I pulled through in addition to my leadership overcome that!</p>

<p>I took everything offered in honors and one AP Biology class. I excelled and got a 100 percent in the course but was unable to sit for the exam because of personal issues.</p>

<p>I was a varsity cheerleader for 4 years.
I was a national honors scholar thespian throughout highschool (the second highest international award given by the largest student theater society in the world)
most recently I held the positions of front of house manager, props master, lighting and tech master. I have 6 thespian stars meaning I’ve put in over 600 quality hours of work during 4 years.</p>
<p>I was a church photographer and public relations specialist for 2 years.
I was a student bible study leader for 1 year( leading a group of 10-15 middle school young men)
I co-founded a homeless ministry at my home church in central florida that now serves over 60 people and houses them every winter.</p>

<p>I faced numerous socio-economic disadvantages - ranging from foster care, home schooling because of hospitalization and other stuff. In total I missed more than an eighth of academic time yet still gradated on time with honors in the top 25 percent of a class of 650+.</p>
<p>I was a student council representative and HOSA Vice-President at our schools regional technical education center. </p>
<p>I have a very large upward curve in academics because of the disadvantages I faced early on. In my Senior year I got a 3.9 overall for that year - with a 4.0 during final semester which I missed half of attendance due to undisclosed personal issues.</p>
