<p>Hey guys. So I’m kinda new to this whole thing, so I would really appreciate it if you guys could chance me for a couple of schools (some already mentioned). Here are my stats:</p>

<p>First off, I’d liked to say that I really enjoy seeing that you have the ambition to become a math major. While I will not claim to be an expert on the mathematics departments at top universities, I had a cousin who majored in math at Dartmouth who really enjoyed it. I know Brown and Northwestern both have well-regarded programs, as well.</p>

<p>Your scores are competitive at all of the schools you’re applying to. Assuming your school is average in rigor (which it may not be), your class rank is a bit low for the top twenty schools, but your schedule does look very rigorous, which is great.</p>

<p>Your ECs are decent. I’m a music person myself (Go Brass!) and I like it when I come across other people interested in orchestral pieces. So, overall, I would say you’ve been quite accomplished in high school.</p>

<p>As far as chancing goes, I would say you have a fair list assembled. The Ivies are a bit of a reach, but they are for nearly everyone else. Definitely apply, you never know what’ll happen. NYU, UVA, UNC, and BC are probably match schools, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were accepted into all of them. </p>

<p>Your mix of public and private schools is good and I like that you threw in your state flagship. Good luck!</p>

<p>Thanks a ton!! I really appreciate your comments. I figured the Ivies might be reach schools, but It’s always worth trying. NYU, UVA, UNC and BC are all great :slight_smile: If anyone else has other comments based on the other schools, I’d greaty appreciate it. Thanks again!</p>

<p>All are good schools and you have a good chance at all of them.</p>

<p>Dartmouth, Brown, Northwestern, and Duke are pretty high reaches, I would say you will get denied from all 4. Stats simply aren’t high enough.</p>

<p>UNC is slightly easier but being incredibly competitive for out of state students, your chances there are very very low.</p>

<p>Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, UVA, and Tufts are solid mid reaches. About average chances at Carnegie Mellon and Tufts and slightly below average chances at Cornell and UVA. Of these, I wouldn’t be too surprised if you get into Carnegie Mellon and/or Tufts. </p>

<p>Rest are matches and some safeties.</p>

Although I was a bit disappointed at first, what you said really made sense… although i didn’t realize unc would be that competitive. But glad to hear about Cornell, CMU, UVA and tufts :slight_smile: … anyone else?</p>

<p>Hey guys- Just as an Update: I got into to UMass Amherst, U Pitt (both for their respective honors program and with scholarship), as well as UVA!!! Thank you all for the feed back that you guys gave me, I truly appreciate it :)</p>
