Hi all,

I am a high school junior seeking your advice on my chances of getting into my dreams school: NYU (CAS)

GPA: 4.2 W, UW: 3.7
ACT: 25 BUT i only took this once and plan on taking it until i get a 28-29

I have taken every single Honors Class and am currently taking 2 AP in addition. The only class that is CP is my math class, however, I am a year ahead taking pre-calc when I am supposed to be taking algebra II

I plan on applying ED

My mother is a legacy at Stern

EC:
Tennis team for all my years in high school, made varsity jr. year
Business Investment club
DECA states finalist all my years in high school
100+ hours at a local hospital helping at the pediatric oncology unit
I have a job this summer at a dental practice nearby (no-pay)

Right now, your weak ACT score is your number one problem. Even with the benefits of ED and legacy, a low test score with your good GPA is a red flag. If you can bring it up to the high 20s – or better, into the 30s – then you’ll be a much more competitive applicant.
