This is the VT forum.

Apply in August at Penn State and you’re in, unless you apply to engineering or business which would be reaches.
NYU is a match, especially if your SAT scores improve.
Run the NPC on both: they’re both lousy with financial aid so the big problem will be paying for them.

Alright, thank you so much!!!

Btw if you want engineering or business just apply DUS. (It’s not detrimental to what you major in, there are no direct admits at PSU).
Where else would you apply?
You need to find two affordable safeties first.

I was thinking about applying to Virginia Tech, Penn State, and University of Houston as my safeties. I would love to go to NYU or UCLA. In college, I want to major in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance and Political Science.

Would DUS cost more?

No. There are no downsides, basically. Check out this year’s results thread to know more.
What’s in state for you?
What’s your budget? EFC? Have you run the NPC on all these and shown the results to your parents?
