Hi, all!

I have okay/good scores (35 ACT, 2040 SuperScore SAT) and a 4.00 UW GPA.

I have and continue to volunteer about 12 hours a week, and am president of a service-oriented club.

However, SAT 2’s get a little…gnarly!
Physics: 700
Math 2: 700
German: 450

I know that Pomona requires ALL scores, and is a tough admit regardless. But with that 450 should I even bother? I am new to Chance threads and appreciate your help!

I’m the parent of a rising senior who plans to apply to Pomona. We visited last Fall, so my response is based on the impression I gained from that tour/info session and studying the website with my student. I think they ask for all test scores as a means to discourage excessive testing and level the playing field so that those who can afford lots of testing (and test prep) don’t have as much of an advantage over those who don’t. So I wouldn’t worry too much about the German score. I think they’ll look at your 35 ACT (which is great), your GPA and your two 700’s on the subject tests, plus of course the rest of your application. As you say, it’s a tough admit regardless but I don’t think the German score will affect their decision. Good luck,

@Corinthian Thanks for your reply, and good luck to your student!
