Applied as a Computer Science Major at PU, OSU, UT and General Engineering at VT. (CIT for second choice at PU and mechanical engineering as a second Choice at UT)

GPA - UW(3.72) / W(3.92)

ACT - 26 (35 on Math and 28 on Science)

Essay - wrote about my growth as a person with my fathers death and how his job as an IT director sparked my interest in technology and inspired me to get into programming.

EC - Youth basketball coach for 3 years, youth small group leader for 6 years, 1 year football, 1 year track, 2 years cross country (Won state as a team w/ personal award all-academic state), NHS, lawn care work over summer.

8 AP/honors - AP CSP and AP CS also taking AP Calc BC this year, I have also been taking STEM based courses since the 7th grade.

Maybe Va Tech…maybe. You may have missed deadlines for most…you’d have needed to be early. You might apply optional vs. sending on the score. At least your math is 35. You can call and ask.

Honestly, if you are doing computer science and yes, there’s top schools - but and I don’t know where you live - but the local state school is going to get you a job but maybe an RIT or public - UMASS, Utah, Michigan Tech, Tennessee Tech, Missouri Science and Tech…lots of great schools where you’ll get jobs. and even $$. Good luck. Cast a wide net - and you’ll land in a great place.
