Common App Essay: 9/10 (Really nailed my love of the classics and intertwined that, albeit a bit hilariously, with computer science)

Supplements so far

Chciago:
Why Chicago: 10/10- concise, a bit bland, but has the soul and heart of a Chicago man.
Extended Essay: 8.5/10- I could have written it better, but at least the topic was unique (Korean soccer and why I love it despite its relatively low quality. Tied it in with academic references and dictatorship background)
Interview: 8/10 Honestly looking back on it, it’s not too bad.

Dartmouth
N.A.I.L.E.D It. Didn’t know this school was such a good fit before I researched it (10/10)

Northwestern: 10/10. Sadly better than Chicago

Princeton: Shortened Extended Essay for Chicago

UNC/UVA: Meh 7/10

Recs

APUS: 9/10 (Wrote an Chicago specific rec letter just for me)

APEnviro 9/10
I took her a massive brag sheet and I suppose she wrote it based on that from what I know

Counselor: 9/10. Got to look at it. Very good

Superior mod on Duolingo: Told how I contribute to service as well as personal interactions (political talk, etc.): 10/10

@Dankjewel If this is your entire college list, then it is very reach heavy. You need more matches and you definitely need safeties. Your list has like no safeties at all.

IMO:

Stanford, Princeton - lottery school for very qualified kids who are not extraordinary/prodigies
Columbia, Penn, Duke, Dartmouth, Brown, NU, JHU - high reaches but a bit more attainable than the first two
WUSTL, Vandy - still reaches but better chances than the schools above
CMU, UVA, UNC - low reaches/high matches

I am in state VA. How would you rate my chances at Chicago?

@Dankjewel You are definitely competitive for Chicago, and Chicago has started giving a huge boost to ED applicants, more so than any other top school. Still Chicago is a top school so you can never be sure.

Even with UVA in state, the rest of your list is all high matches or reaches. I would advise adding 1-2 more real safeties on your list, especially given that you are Asian.

bump

I think you have a great profile for Chicago as I think they love ED students. For the RD schools, you have good chances at most of them depending on your essays
