<p>I’m sorry, but can you explain the “In my school’s special ed department” part further? That could make a big difference in the application process.</p>

Around the time that I went into middle school (when people began to notice social skills) I was diagnosed with ADHD. Ever since then I have been in resource room - essentially a study hall run by the special ed department to make sure everyone gets their stuff done. I have received basic accommodations like extra time on tests. I have also been suspected by many of having other psychological disorders like anxiety, but nothing has been tested at this point.</p>
<p>You have a great ACT score, and solid SAT II’s and a good GPA (I’m assuming it’s unweighted - and even if it’s weighted it’s still good)
This combined with the good reputation of your school should qualify you as a potential student for most colleges.</p>
<p>Your extracurriculars seem to be good (especially Varsity Track).
You can definitely draw from your “extras” to write powerful essays, which is very important.</p>
<p>I’ve only researched a few of the colleges, and here’s what I would chance you for them:</p>
<p>Rice University - I’d say you definitely have a chance, although it will be tough to get in here (it is for everybody).
Davidson College - Same as Rice.
Miami (legacy) - Certainly possible. Especially since you ACT is above their average.
Macalester - Target. They accept a lot of kids, and once again, your test scores exceed their average scores for acceptance.</p>
<p>So basically I’d view you as a solid candidate. If you can write great essays, then you really do have a chance at these great schools. Remember to draw from your “extras” - these really are unique experiences that will help you stand out from the crowd.</p>
<p>Of course I’m not exactly qualified to give this sort of an answer, so this is mainly based on my own perceptions and judgments.</p>
<p>It’s also important to remember that you’re going to end up at the school where you are meant to be. Even if you don’t get into your top school, you’re going to have a great time wherever you go.</p>
