Senior Year Course Load: AP Calc AB, Spanish IV Honors, AP Lit, Politics Honors, Honors history elective about Asian culture, Art History (required to graduate), some required theology electives—chose ones that fit my passions for the environment and cultural studies
Major Awards: National Merit Commended Scholar, National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Award in Writing, National Spanish Exam Medalist (gold freshman year, bronze sophomore year, was unable to take jr year)

Essays (rating 1-10, details): Common App (9, wrote about thrift shopping and how it’s shaped me as an appreciator of antiquity and an environmentalist), most of my other supplements aren’t written rip but I really like my Smith and Wellesley ones, which are completed

Teacher Rec #1: My physics and AP Comp Sci teacher. My college counselor has told me it’s very strong
Teacher Rec #2: My AP Lit teacher. Should be great, but she has quite a bit on her plate at the moment
Counselor Rec: Should be fine, but this is her first year at my school :confused: I supplied a lot of detailed info about myself though
Additional Rec: History teacher (told my mom she was honored to be able to teach me), founder of a major tech corporation who happens to be the board director of the class I teach on Saturdays, my research internship supervisor, my dance teacher. I’m letting my counselor decide which ones are the strongest and send the correct number of letters accordingly
Interview: Probably interviewing everywhere except Loyola. My Barnard, Bryn Mawr, and Wellesley interviews have gone well—Haverford and Smith next week—others yet to be scheduled

WashU is a low reach and I can see you getting in. ACT is high enough, although the low Math subsection could be a red flag if you are planning on a CompSci or any STEM major. I also don’t see that many science classes. Sociology seems a better fit. Or maybe history.

@Hamurtle Thank you for the input! I totally spaced on my science classes because I’m taking them both next semester: an independent study in environmental science and anthropology. Also I’ve taken 3 years of honors science (physics, chem, bio) and received consistent As. Any idea about the other schools?

I predict you will get into 7 or 8 of the 9 schools you listed. I hope I am wrong and you get accepted to all of them. Good luck!

I predict you can get into most of these schools. You have a great outstanding academic record along with great activities and volunteer work. Did you apply to any of these early action? I’m also applying to Washington Unversity. Have you visited Washington University?

@kicklee does your school offer AP science classes? Honors might be OK but for some of the reach schools they will prefer that you take at least 1 AP science class, especially if you are considering a CompSci major.

@Hamurtle My school offers AP Chemistry only. However, I have heard that WashU is in talks to move their CompSci program to the arts and sciences college, which indicates to me that the expectations for that major are a bit less streamlined than, say, engineering. But again, that’s just a rumor! Hopefully my consistency in honors math will compensate for it (and receive more weight than my test scores), since Computer “Science” is a bit of a misnomer and it’s more math and logic based.

@aleg Thanks so much! I applied Early Action to Loyola and will be doing the same for their Honors College, and Wellesley has an Early Evaluation option (essentially a likely letter). I have visited WashU; the campus is beautiful and the surrounding neighborhood truly caters to the student population. Good luck to you!

Update: Just finished my Smith interview and was told I am a prime fit for the college! Does anyone have any further input on my chances at these schools?
