<p>So I found this website when I “googled” a scholarship that my teacher wanted me to reply to… It seems that the people here are really good at predicting someones chances in the college admission process… Although I know that no one can “really” know where they will get in when it comes to some of the best colleges in the nation… could you at least try me…</p>

<p>African American girl - Houston Texas
Class Rank : 1/ 820
GPA W: 4.6 UW: 3.94
SAT: n/a
SAT Subject test: 680 Biology E Taking Math 2 and Physics- expecting over 700… I took both during October and scored a 650 so I have really been studying to raise my score.
ACT: 32 hopefully a 33 but the October ACT was really difficult to me</p>

<p>Clubs:
President of: german Club and Science National Honor Society and Culture group that acts as a service organization.
Mentor for middle school students
Assitant debate coach for middle school students
Active in local Habitat for Humanity and Red Cross</p>

<p>Awards:
AP Scholar with Distinction
National Achievement Semi- finalist
Questbridge College Prep Winner
Nationally ranked in debate
2- time national qulifier for speech and debate
Qualifed in five events at state tournament last year
A slew of speech and debate awards
district science fair champion in biology
alternate to state in science fair in 9th grade
3rd in a national speech contest</p>

<p>Quirks:
I wouldnt say that I am poor because I dont feel that I am poor but rather lower middle class. My father takes care of my whole family which includes my brother and sister and two young cousins. I have taken on the responsibilities of taking care of my cousins because their father died and they now live with us…</p>

<p>Problem in applicaton:
only two years of foreign language- but I speak two other languages( native languages)
grades show a slight slip in grades in Ap Physics and Calculus… Im aiming for high B’s.</p>

<p>Colleges:
I Love Rice: that is my number one college and I know I want to go into the medical field so it seems to be the perfect place for me to go if I was accepted. I would turn down any school for Rice.</p>

Dartmouth
Williams
UH honor college
Smith College
Vanderbilt
Weslyean
Stanford</p>

<p>I didnt apply early anywhere because I am in dire need of financial assitance and I don’t want to be locked down at a school I cant pay for…</p>

<p>So what are my chances… I am going to apply to all these schools but I wonder what other people think my chances are… tell the truth… and I’ll respect any opinion…</p>

<p>I would say you are in at every school you listed, with the exception of Stanford. You still have a decent shot there, I would presume. </p>

<p>I’d say you’re in at Rice, and probably the others too.</p>

<p>You really should aim higher. You’re in at all of them but Stanford, which you’ll have really good chances at.</p>

<p>nah if you love Rice no need to aim “higher”… Rice is an excellent school… and i think everyone should pick schools based on fit… sometimes you just KNOW a school is right for you… it’s an exciting feeling too! i think you should get in, good luck!</p>

<p>i agree with fs08 that school should be picked based on fit. Your stats are quite good and AA will help you out as well. You have a really good chance at Rice. Good luck! :-)</p>
