Chance me for some UC's + Miami

Chance me for UCSB, USC, UC Davis. UC’s dont look at your freshman year, right?
I am currently a junior so I will post my grades thusfar (halfway through the year) and what they most likely will be at the end of the year.
10th:
Honors English: B+
Honors CHem: A-
Honors Algebra 2: A
Honors Latin 2: A+
Honors Global Studies: B+

(Our school doesn’t let students take AP’s sophomore year)
Grade right now/ what it will most likely finish as
11th:
Honors Latin: A+/A+
Honors Precalc: B+/A-
AP Chem: A-/A
Honors US History: B/B+
Honors English: A/A

Schedule for next year will be AP Calc BC, AP MEH, AP Latin, Honors Physics, and Honors English. Might possibly take AP Stat as well.

SAT: 2060
EDIT: If there are any other schools that you guys think I am a good match for or any safeties for me please post here! I really have no clue where I can to school haha. I only posted these schools because they are where I am looking at for now, but thats only because I am rather uneducated and have a lack of knowledge on this whole process. I encourage you guys to post other schools within my reach. I also go to one of Connecticut’s top public high schools, I believe it is in the top 8 for the state.

Bummmmmmmmmmmmmmp

are they UC approved honors?
statiscally you’re a match/lowmatch at davis and SB
USC is a reach but that all depends on your ECs and essays

Not sure if UC approved honors. From my school, a weighted 3.69 is the avergae to get into UCSB and my weighted average for the two years is a 4.06

You will almost certainly get into UCSB and most likely UC Davis and Miami. I would call USC a low reach. Good luck!

UCSB: Low Match
USC: High Match
UC Davis: Low Match

I would recommend you apply to UCLA and UC Berkeley

google UC approved honors. I think the website is called doorways or something? just search for your school and there’s a listing of which courses at your school can be approved for honors credit. I’d link you but I’m on my phone.

I agree, definitely apply for UCLA. it’s worth a shot.

UC’s look at both semesters of 10th and 11th grade. you only posted one grade letter for 10th, unlike 11th. your gpa might be higher based on that.

Did not know that. Sophomore year GPA might be a bit higher because of this. Junior year GPA will most likely be higher too.

The website is called UC Doorways, just look up your high school.

Wait a second… went on the webstie… it says that i need 1 YEAR of visual and performing arts (VPA), chosen from the following: dance, drama/theater, music, or visual arts. (Year-long course must be in a single discipline). to get into UCSB. How much does this matter in my application? Also a B- is the same as a B+ to the UC’s and all of my B’s are b+s!! Ughhh… my chances are done?

Bump. Really anxious.

im glad that they require a year of performing arts because I hate it when kids just do hw throughout highschool, but then they suck at anything thats remotely artistic. That really irks me man.

It sucks for me. The only option i have is for my senior year to take intro to photo and then intermediate photo but those classes are both half year…

ive been in band since the 7th grade. Always best to start early lol.
But seriously i think that its a great rule for besides the reason i said earlier. I thought that band would be a drag but it turns out that i was actually good at something besides school. Trust me its good to be able to tell a girl that u play 6 instruments, vs saying “oh, im really good at taking notes and cramming!”. No dis to the amazing students out there, but its really worth it to do something fun ya know? steps off soapbox

man i wish my school had AP calc bc :(

Bumping thread. Thanks.
