Chance me for T20s (inactive)

Hello! I’m a current junior wondering what if I have a chance at T20 reaches such as:

  • Ivies: Dartmouth or Brown
  • UChicago, Rice, JHU, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Duke, CMU, or Pomona
  • My only safety is UT Austin (auto-admit)
  • Major: biochem/chem depending on the school

Demographics/Hooks:

  • Adopted girl in STEM
  • First-generation, middle class
  • Under-resourced community

School Stats:

  • GPA: 4.7
  • Rank: top 10/500+
  • ACT: taking it in July

Coursework:

  • 4 AP’s (one 3, two 4’s, one 5)
  • 8 College courses: all A’s except one A-
  • All other classes were Pre-AP
  • Currently taking 6 AP’s and will finish HS with 16

UT Austin is a really good university. If you are auto-admit at UT-Austin, then you know that you will be at a great university when the time comes. You just do not know which one. To me this should take a lot of pressure off.

Otherwise “top 20’s” are reaches, but IMHO reasonable ones. You are a very competitive applicant.

Apply, and see what happens.

Also, pay attention to your budget. Pay attention to what YOU want in a university, and do not attend a “top 20” just because of the ranking.
