Schools
Ideally I want to go to a texas school with a good cs program, as I get in state tuition (but not in state acceptance rate) I’m not sure what schools I have a chance at getting into, and what schools I should apply for in this list as targets to have the best change at:
I want to know my chances of getting into TAMU College of Engineering if I apply by the October 15 deadline. What other targets could I add to my list?
I have verified my in state residency for Texas (not for acceptance but for tuition). I just want to get into A&M; I’ll be able to keep up due to my current course rigor and work hard for my goals. When I first came into high school I was too lazy and didn’t prioritize my grades whatsoever, but have found a work ethic throughout the years and can excel in the TAMU Engineering curriculum
TAMU has rolling admissions and the application opened on August 1. If this school is a priority for you, you should have applied two months ago and you would have heard back by now. It’s unlikely at this point.
It says on the Common Data Set that they only consider standardized test scores. Do you think my ACT would have any impact on my consideration academics wise? I feel like my essays and EC’s are good enough to be able to get in, but the grades are holding me back.
I’m not an admissions officer, but your GPA appears to be too low, you’re OOS and you’ve waited too long to submit an application. Go ahead and apply, but make sure you have a list of safety and target schools.
OP I agree with momofthree24…you can apply to TAMU, but admission should be considered a reach/unlikely. Did you get your app into UT Dallas yet? Where does your updated list stand?
