Chance me for these schools please!(Junior in HS)

Hi everyone!

I’m currently a junior, but i’m still curious as too what you guys think about my list and if I have any shot at these schools.

Stretch(I know i probably won’t get in, stretch school for a reason…)- Cornell, Stanford(eh, why not)

Major- Engineering, not sure yet, but probably either chemical/industrial
Goal- USD, Santa Clara, NYU, BU, UC Merced, UCLA, LMU, Northeastern

GPA- 3.7( significantly increased since freshman year…)
UC GPA- 4.2
Class Rank- Top 10%

ACT- 30

Ethnicity- American Filipino
Worth noting-
Tourette Syndrome, Anxiety, OCD, LD if that matters at all…

EC: Cross Country- 2 years
Golf, 3 years so far- Captain
Part of the shadowing program fresh/soph year
Project Eye to Eye(National Organization)- For those of you who don’t know, it’s a program where students age 16+ get to mentor middle school kids with LD’s by doing art projects with them. once a week we spend time with them, talk with them, and just help them out. I will also be a coordinator for this Senior year with another friend and we get to be trained at brown!
Speaking- I do a lot of speaking around at schools in my area including my own school. I talk about Tourette Syndrome and I’m trying to spread a lot of awareness about this in order to make lives easier for others that struggle with TS.

I’ve spoken to over 600+ students…

TSA YA- Tourette Syndrome Association YOuth Ambassador. The speaking thing I mentioned above^

I also had the opportunity to attend a YA leadership conference last year where I learned about TS and public speaking with other kids, and the next day I presented to the congressional aides of the sen./rep. of my region…

TEDxyouth talk- This year…

I won’t go into much detail about this, but it was about tourette syndrome and this is part of my TS advocacy efforts…

So, I know i’m not the smartest and i don’t have a complete package yet, but I still would love to be chanced for these schools! Hopefully I can also get involved into other things as well my senior year!

Thanks everyone, enjoy your day…!

Oh I forgot, my ACT was a composite of a 30, i’m going to take it again and i’m hoping to get a 32+

would love some opinions

I’m not sure what my opinion is worth (I’m just a sophomore and I don’t really know how this chance stuff works) but I think you have a pretty good shot!
I love how involved you are, it makes you seem more human and the fact that you’re advocating for Tourette Syndrome is impressive. Also, don’t sell yourself so short, your GPA is very good.
Just mentally prepare yourself for whatever happens (remember, there’s a lot of crazy applicants out there).
You’ll be fine!

Appreciate it!

Yeah. I just feel my GPA should be higher if it wasn’t for freshman year, oh well…

Bump… Need more opinions thanks

bump, need some opinions pls!

Bump, appreciate opinions…

I’ve noticed all your bumps.

Cornell, Stanford → Your gpa is kind of low for those schools. If you can write a great persuasive essay then you’ll have a shot. I’d recommend retaking and scoring higher on the ACT if you really want to go to those schools.

“Major- Engineering, not sure yet, but probably either chemical/industrial”
Every engineering major is impacted. You’re going to have to do research to figure out your own chances with getting chemical/industrial majors. Check this UCLA website → I’d advise a major that you would enjoy and think you can get in for UCLA.

UC Merced → If you’re in a California public high school, and that you’re 10% percent, then you’re guaranteed UC Merced b/c of ELC. Otherwise, I believe Merced accepts 70% of its applicants.

I’m from california and I applied to only california universities, so that’s all I can give you.

Thank you! Yes, I live in Cali. Thank you for the input, greatly appreciated

You’d be a real competitve applicant IF you had some hooks. Otherwise, both schools are reaches. I suppose your essays on TS and LDs will give yo

How about the goal schools i listed? I said in my post that i know those 2 schools are reaches…

But how aboutthe other schools on my list?

How about the other schools on my list?

I know Cornell and stanford are super high reaches and very hard to get into, like I put in my post
