MIT and Columbia are high reaches for everyone, no matter who they are or what they did. You have a chance everywhere, just higher chances at the less selective schools. Kudos to you on that ACT score and making the all state band! You’ll be good for most places, only worry about the top schools like MIT or whatever, but you may even get in there. They’ll definitely see your application and take interest. Make sure to write a stellar essay and get good recommendations

bump

bump… more insight please

you have an amazing chance at all of the public schools.
I would also say that you have a very high chance at Cornell.
But for MIT and Columbia, i can’t really say. Just do well on your essays.
