Honors/Awards:
Attended New Jersey Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology (Statewide Honor)
The New Jersey Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology is a highly selective summer program for 88 of New Jersey’s top high school juniors interested in engineering or technology. The three elective classes I took were Fundamentals of Biomedical Engineering, Introduction to Biomechanics, and 3D Printing. All three classes were lecture based and had additional labs to supplement. In addition to the elective classes, each scholar also had to participate in robotics and take a modern physics course. Outside of the classroom, I worked with 4 other students in a research project entitled Fabrication in a Clean Room: Key to Success from Microelectronics to Nanotechnology. The project focused on the production of surface acoustic wave devices in a cleanroom and the application of such devices as biosensors. We worked with Dr. Pavel Reyes and Dr. Warren Lai of the Rutgers University Department of Electrical Engineering, specifically in the Microelectronics Research Laboratory (MERL) facility of Rutgers University.
