My GPA and ECs aren’t that exceptional and all of these are reach schools. I think my PIQs are the strength of my application. I was an ELD student and immigrated here before my freshman year began. I tested out of ELD my sophomore year, and then started taking Spanish classes. I explained it in my PIQs how it was hard for me to study in a language i’d never known and how i overcame that. Also wrote about how I tutored ELD students after learning English and Spanish myself (it wasn’t for community service or anything, i just wanted to help them). I also received the request to submit two letters of rec from UCB and I’ve already got one submitted from my current English teacher.
I couldn’t take a lot of AP classes since ELD took up most of my credits.
4 APs in total.
Did you apply to CS at UCB in the College of Leters and Sciences or EECS? What about UCD, CS in College of Letters and Sciences or CSE in the College of Engineering?
Below are the 2019 admit rates based on UC capped weighted GPA and not major specific. Competitive majors like CS would have lower admit rates and require higher stats.
2019 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:
UCB: 12%
UCLA: 7%
UCD: 47%
2020 UC capped weighted GPA averages along with 25th-75th percentile range:
UCB: 4.22 (4.13-4.30)
UCLA: 4.25 (4.18-4.31)
UCD: 4.11 (3.97-4.25)
Your best chance would be at UCD. Best of luck.
Did you apply to any Match or Safety schools?
College of Letters and Science for UCD, EECS for UCB. I applied to UCM, Sac State and Fresno State. Already got accepted at Sac State, waiting for fresno and UC’s till march.
My top choice is UCD. I hope I get in!

I think you have a shot but the UC’s are very hard this year and you chose some of the hardest, so good luck. You have a hook and grades are good but they may want more than that.
