Essays: Writing about my father’s death about a year ago and how it affected me as a person and my outlook on life (I hadn’t seen my father in five years and the last time I spoke to him was when I was 12, so it was very strange to hear about his death and I think it affected me differently then someone whose dad was around would have been affected)
Expressing my creative side through color guard, the challenges I faced in leadership, being the only guy in color guard (only mention this like once)
My passion for history, why I find it so interesting and engaging, how I relate it to my intended major.
LORs: Band Director (commends me for being in color guard knowing how judgmental much of the band is (or was), known him since I was a freshman), AP Lang teacher (had her for 11th grade Lang and I TA her class as a senior, loves me and says I am a good writer), Director of the animal shelter I apply to.
