ECS:
Volunteered 100+ Hours at a Hospital
Have played the piano for 8 years(Doesn’t help me because I haven’t won any awards or played any competitions at all), I can play Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu pretty well.
Black Belt In Tang Soo Do(Again, Doesn’t help, haven’t won any awards).
Member of Key Club for senior year only(Uh, I don’t think this counts either)
Looking at the UC admissions process I gain points for being the first in my family to go to college/ very low family income.
What are my chances for UCSD/UCI/UC Davis? I think pretty low-medium chances at all 3.
Also, could any recommend me other good universities that are around my range?
What about Berkeley/UCLA? ( Perhaps they will accidentally accept me?)

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m feeling a little left out because everyone on this board has a 1337+2 Gpa, 2700/2400 Sat Scores, 6s on Every Ap Test Possible, Volunteered over 50000 hours, and are all prodigies in piano/flute/violin and it seems as if everyone here has won a nobel prize or two.

I predict you’ll get into UCI and UC Davis.
Are you applying to UCSB?
UCSD is a high match, but you have a good chance.
Berkeley and UCLA are reaches but possible.

Write good essays!

Considering your courseload, the GPA might be reasonable. Nonetheless, your Sat score will partially make up for it anyways.

You got OK chances at UCSD, UCI/ and Davis.

UCLA and Berkeley look like low reaches, but what is your UC GPA?
And if they DO accept you, it’s not accidental. That SAT score is 150 points above average for UCLA and Cal, and 250 pts above avg for UCSD.

So I wouldn’t be surprised…

Honestly I think after the SATs hit the average, they’re pretty much the same…for the UCs, anyways.
I have pretty much the same stats as you, except a slightly lower SAT 1 and a 3.5 UW.
Ultimately to get into SD, Berkeley and LA, it takes a good GPA and at least ELC (best chances). Lower GPAs like us do sometimes get in, so let’s keep our hopes up?

UCLA/Berkeley - Low Reaches
SD - slight reach
Irvine - match

I’ve seen really poor stats and SATs get into Irvine, so I’m going to call that a match…
