@Gumbymom and others Please Chance me for UCs, Calpoly SLO

OOS: UW, UIUC, UT Austin, Purdue

Prefer Public schools in CA unless I get Financial Aid. Any other suggested schools on west coast/mountain/central would be appreciated!

Are you a National Merit Semi-Finalist?

I am class of 2025. Isn’t it too early to know if I am Semi finalist? My score is 214 and it just shows I am eligible to apply for National Merit. I do not know what that means.

@lkg4answers My index score is 214 so I dont think I will be

Where does it say that you are eligible to apply for National Merit and where did you get the score of 214?

The Selection Index is double the sum of your reading and writing score, added to your math score, then divided by 10.

I checked on College board

There is typo, my PSAT score is 1450. Hence the confusion

Okay, no worries. There are several schools that offer very attractive packages for students who are National Merit Finalists. Not many are in the states where you are looking.

I will not chance you since the UC’s and Cal Poly SLO are unpredictable but I will list the admit rates if available for those 2 majors. Note the admit rates do no show how competitive each major applicant pool can be since the GPA range and other statistical data is not available.
