<p>Freshman and Sophomore Year, went to school in China with British Curriculum, got 10 A*s. (Highest grades for 2 years)
Highest level for all tiered classes, such as Additional Math, First Language Lang/Lit and First Language Chinese.</p>
<p>Junior Year, applied and got in as one of only 2 juniors from China to Phillips Academy Andover. There, took the hardest classes possible:

Grades were less than ideal but due to adjustment to new environment and caliber of classes. (I KNOW I KNOW)

<p>You see how there’s no third trimester? Well I went back to China for spring break, and talked to one of my sophomore teachers about Andover (one who wrote me a rec for there). He asked about my ECs, what I do for fun. I told him that while socially I was fine, I found little enrichment in their community service, which for the New England Elite meant sharpening pencils at a local daycare where Andover teachers sent their children. I came from a farmer’s family, and for me giving back to the community that has given so much to me is incredibly important. My teacher told me to come back to the microcredit lending program (for farmers in rural China like my uncles) I founded Freshman year, Farmwell, and study at a good American school here. I did just that, and since then have had much success with the program.</p>

-Layout Editor at Zeitgeist Magazine
-2 years MUN and debate club
-Founder and president of Farmwell, a microcredit lending platform to help farmers in rural China gain economic independence (farmwell.org) raised more than $12,000, impacted 300 farmers.
-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Chronicon, an International Arts and Lit magazine (thechronicon.org) designed and launched the website myself. Proceeds from selling mag go to Farmwell.
-Intern at that’sShanghai magazine, expatriate magazine for city life. Helped design layout and designed and published a new section of their website.
-Intern at CreditEase, the platform which allowed me to extend loans directly to farmers.
-I paint, and incorporate elements of my passions in my painting. I’m extremely artistically and aesthetically inspired, but also love Physics and math. Examples of my work include elegant physics solutions amalgamated with sleek fonts and islamic tessellation, as well as abstract social commentary on societal stratification.</p>
<p>This summer:
-Going to Ireland to finish art portfolio, going to Cali to visit colleges and meet with Stanford admissions, internship in silicon valley.
-Going to Shanxi in deep southwest China to meet with farmers and teach their children English. Then moving a little further north and meeting my actual family!!!

<p>I know there are discrepancies in my transcript that need explaining. I know I do not have a perfect academic record, but I hope to explain that and my move back to China in my essay.</p>
