<p>Hello, I am currently a high school junior in California and I’m starting to worry about college admissions already. The part that troubles me is that I have a decent GPA and decent test scores, but compared to my classmates, I have rather weak extracurriculars and nothing like their laundry list of achievements. Due to my taciturn personality, I won’t be able to get any letters of recommendation.
I am aiming to get into UCLA or UC Berkeley, with UCSD as a safety. I’ve heard that the UC system does not require rec letters, but they may ask for them if you are borderline. Is this true? </p>
