hey guys
just wondering, how selective is UIUC for bioengineering? I know it has a 43.7% acceptance rate. Do you think I could get in there with 6 bs in stem courses but strong gpa ovrall (3.89)?

Where did you find that acceptance rate? According to the UIUC website, the acceptance rate at UIUC in 2025 for all majors was 36.6% and first choice majors was 30.2%. Engineering is lower still. And if you are OOS and if you did not apply EA, the chances are again lower. So while your chances there are probably better than they are at Stanford and MIT, it is by no means a sure admit. Good luck to you!
Could you get in? Yes, we don’t know anything about you so if you apply… For example, do you go to a high end private, have taken courses beyond a normal load (beyond Calc BC), have a 1550 SAT, etc.
Will you get in? Statistically unlikely but if you don’t apply you won’t get in and again, we know nothing about you.
Good news though - lots of wonderful engineering programs out there.
