Thanks! I’d really appreciate it if you could tell me where I stand, thanks again!!

It really depends on your unweighted GPA. Even though your school may not do unweighted, Michigan will convert it to an unweighted scale. A=4,B=3, C=2 etc. Your EC’s, test scores, and course load put you in a good position, but your unweighted GPA will play a significant role. I highly recommend you take the essays seriously when you apply. Not serious as in don’t have fun with it, but serious as in put in the effort. Best of luck to you!

We all need an unweighted GPA! A 4.1 W could really be like a 3.5 UW. I’m not saying it is…you sound smart. Before a proper “Chance” is made, however, we would need the UW.

Yep–even an estimate of unweighted GPA would be good. Weighted GPAs are pretty meaningless because they can disguise so many problems that an unweighted GPA makes apparent.

Yes, we do need to see the uwGPA. Nevertheless, you may want to look up the cost before you invest too much time on it. It is going to cost you $55k per year as oos student. Make sure if it is really affordable to you first. Good luck.

Yes, UW GPA is one of the two most important factors that they consider. The other is course rigor. These are weighted more heavily in your decision than test scores, EC’s, etc.

I think my gpa should definitely be around a 3.8 if not higher? is that helpful? My guidance counselor refuses to tell us our actual unweighteds

You don’t need your counselor to figure out your UW GPA! As said in many many many numerous posts before, just take your entire transcript and take away all the pluses and minuses (A- still equals a 4.0, a b+ or b- still equals a 3.0, etc) and figure out for yourself what your GPA is. UMich likes to see around a 3.8 UW. They also like to see a rigorous courseload where you have taken many honors and AP courses.
