Chance me for UMich, UW--Madison, MSU, Syracuse, etc.

Hi! I’m a junior, so I am starting to work on essays and apps and looking for insight outside of the bubble of my public Michigan HS. As of now, I am thinking of applying to University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Michigan State University (hopefully Honors College), Syracuse University, UChicago, and Barnard College. I am planning on majoring in either Public Policy Analysis or Special Education. Here are my stats:

GPA UW: 4.0
GPA W: 4.2 but will increase at the end of the school year
ACT: 32 blind, but I just retook it (blind again, oops) and hoping to get a 33 or 34
SAT: 1420 (I really dislike the SAT and I’m not sending that score)
Rank: N/A
APs: AP US History (5) and waiting on my scores for Gov, Lang, and APES. Next year, I’m taking Spanish, Lit, Stats, and Psych

ECs: Volunteer for major organization that runs programs for individuals with disabilities (9-12) (Leadership Board 11-12) (President 12) (Summer Camp counselor and intern 11-12), Club that promotes inclusivity and acceptance of students with cognitive impairments at my school (Founder/President 11-12), Planned and executed Mental Health Week for my school (10-12) (Committee Leader 11-12), Social Justice League (9-10) (Executive Board 10), National Honor Society (11-12) (Secretary 12), and other clubs (Environmental Club, Interact Club, and more service-oriented clubs)
I wish I had more impressive ones, but I focused on ECS that resonated with me and committed a lot of time to those. I want to go to a school that can grasp that and has students who understand valuing quantity over quality and doing things for more reasons than looking good on apps.

Please let me know if any other information would be helpful. I enjoy writing and I know that stats like these only scratch the surface, but I appreciate any advice

I’m not very qualified to answer this, but i’m
going to syracuse next fall for poly sci and I got in w a 3.6 UW and a 1230 SAT so your chances for cuse seem pretty good. I also got into Wisco off of the waitlist so your chances there are likely good as well, however you being from Michigan may be a tougher admit since i’m sure a lot of people from your school apply. Good luck!

Statistically, with the in-state acceptance rate of 41% for the Class of 2022, and having a 4.0 UWGPA and a 32 ACT, I think you will have a very good chance of getting into UMich LSA (and MSU of course).

Wisconsin with a 4.0 unweighted (which is all they consider, not weighted gpa) and a 32+, is probably OOS acceptance by the end of the process though could be an initial postponement. If you are serious about UW, then apply by the first admission deadline and do put some time into the essay. OOS high stat kids tend to be the ones admitted straight away rather than postponed so hitting 33-34 could convert to acceptance rather than postpone.

Chances are good for Syracuse but I would recommend a campus visit and, more importantly, an on-campus interview (which is optional) with the department of possible, because I suspect that many merit awards come as a result of the interview (no real knowledge of that, just personal experience and I heard there is a box on the interview form to check ).

Also be aware that at the elementary level Syracuse does not have a stand-alone special Ed program; the major is a Elementary and Inclusive Ed, so you do coursework in both.
