Does being a YouTube partner count as an E.C??

I am from india . I am in the final year of highschool.

Percentage:-92%

Extracurriculars:-

  1. Vice president of computer club.
  2. Prefect.
  3. Made an anrdroid app which helps you convert text to speech.
  4. Made an android app which helps you doodle.
  5. Made an android app which let’s you send a text to someone while your driving ,without touching the phone.
  6. Member of debate club.
  7. Currently developing a website which let’s students discuss their common doubts.
  8. Peer tutor.
  9. Guitar player.
  10. Volunteer at change India.
  11. Volunteer at teach India.
  12. Participated in IMO conducted by SOF got a state rank of 30.
  13. Participated in NCO conducted by SOF got a state rank of 20.

Your SAT score isn’t very high for an international applicant to UC Berkeley.
Plus, your ECs aren’t very different to other Indian applicants (everyone participates in an Olympiad, everyone programs something or the other, or creates a new app), so there’s nothing to distinguish you from the others.

Hey man, fellow Asian international student here! Just got admitted into UCB :smiley: I am in no position to impose a remark regarding your candidacy but if I were you, I would raise your SAT I and take some SAT II tests. @DarkEclipse‌ has some merit in his statements. I had 0 majors awards but my E.C were eccentric; I think those and my essays really hit it off with UCB!

Low chances… but you still have a chance. Your state ranks in olympiads are mediocre (I’m an Indian too, and I’ve gotten state ranks in the top 5). Everything else is common

Yes, youtube partner counts as an EC. If you have a lot of views/subscribers or something of that sort and your videos are somewhat good (as in not lyrics videos etc.) then I think it qualifies as an EC and could be a very strong one at that.
