Extracurriculars:

  • Varsity Tennis: 3 years, captain for 1 year
  • Mission Trips: Went with my Church to help and rebuild houses in economically poor communities. Did 2 trips, one in New Mexico and one in New York, and spent a week working per trip. Was able to create connections with the people living in those communities.
    • Church Broadcast: Part of the program of the broadcast of my church's service for the past 4 years. Started out as a director, and eventually became a director, and finally got a paid internship with my Church and am now in charge of the entire broadcast. Took care of broadcasts for about 40 weeks per year, every Sunday.
    • French tutoring: Co-created a French tutoring program with 2 other students and the high school French teacher. Every week we went to an elementary school to teach basic French to 5th graders. Lasted about 30 sessions, and it had to end last year when the French teacher left the school.

-Brothers:
I do not know if that counts as EC, but I have 3 little brothers and was responsible to take care of them because my mother was working and my dad not always at home.

Clubs (Not an officer at any of them so it probably won’t have an impact on my applications)

  • Math Club
  • Key Club

Letters of recommendation:
Math and Computer Science teacher:
Most likely generic.

Pastor of my Church: Good, she liked me a lot and was aware of all the church-related activities I was involved in mentioned above.

Thanks everyone.

def have a shot but some of these schools are competitive af, recs dont matter that much tbh but def your essays have a lot of impact since most . applying have stats like yours and can still potentially be rejecteed

Columbia and UChicago are the toughest, Cornell a tad bit easier, NYU most likely unless they play yield protection with you
