Chance Me for UT Austin Engineering [Top 4%, 1500, Lacking engineering ECs]

Intended Major: Electrical and Computer Engineering

My concern is I did not participate in many physics, robotics and electrical engineering activities/competitions and UT Austin engineering is very competitive.

Academics:

SAT: 1500 (760 M, 740 Eng) Top 4% of my class

4s and mostly 5s on AP exams (Notable: Physics 1 &2, CSA, Bio, Stats, Calc BC) Awards: PVSA Gold, DECA State, Nation women in CS, Business Competition Winner Regional, Math honor inductee, AP Scholar with distinction

Extracurriculars:

Founder of a Coding Non-Profit Event: Managed communications, secured partnerships and sponsorships, marketed events, and hosted coding & tech workshops.

President of Girls Who Code: Led initiatives and organized events.

UT Academy Summer Program for CS

Internship at a Tech Startup: shadowed software engineers, helped implement and research new feautures on platform to help hospital managment.

Creating AI Models for Disease Diagnosis: Developed AI models & Data analysis.

President of the Coding Tutoring Club: Led the club and provided coding tutoring for students.

District Youth Leader: Created a program to assist students academically.

Developed Apps/Websites for Social Causes: Built tech solutions addressing various social issues.

Build plant watering system (hardware project) and app

Mentor to Robotics Team middle schoolers, Volunteer at Food Bank

Not a concern - you could work at McDonalds or Starbucks and be fine.

And yet you have totally relevant ECs.

It’s a tough school - you’ll be in the university but engineering is a crapshoot.

Have a balanced list and you’ll be fine, UT or otherwise.
