<p>How am i a high reach for Dartmouth, but no Vanderbilt? Does Vanderbilt emphasize more community than academic ?</p>

<p>No, Vanderbilt should be considered a reach. They use holistic admissions, so they’re in the same group as Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, etc.
Also, Vanderbilt really emphasizes academics like any other top tier univeristy. I believe about 1 or 2 years ago, they had a better SAT/ACT range for incoming Freshman than Harvard.</p>

<p>I would say Dartmouth is a reach as well. You have great grades and a great class rank, but the only thing that’s holding you back from these prestigious schools is your ECs. I do believe you have a great shot at Emory, GT, and UGA though. Also, I would suggest you apply to Berkeley, I think you’d have an great chance there as well!</p>
