Hi,
I’m a girl from India, and I was told that I could look at Wellesley as a safety. That seemed a little unrealistic, and I’d like your opinion, please…

I’ll be happy to provide more details if required. Please give me your opinion.

Thank you.

You are a strong candidate but I wouldn’t consider Wellesley a safety school. Also Wellesley is not need blind, so if you are seeking financial aid, that makes it even tougher.

[Wellesley College - Admission & Financial Aid - International Applicants](http://web.wellesley.edu/web/Admission/Apply/FAQ/international.psml)

Thanks a lot. Would you suggest some schools as safeties - just so I could get some idea of my range?
Does anyone else have an opinion on Wellesley as a safety?

I think it will depend a lot on if you are seeking financial aid. Then you are limited to only applying to colleges that give need based aid to international students.

If not concerned about aid, make your list of safety schools based on the location, size and the major you are seeking (public state schools are a good bet)

I would suggest starting here [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/)
or visit the international/india section of this board.

Wellesley really isn’t a “safety school” for anyone, it’s the fourth best liberal arts college in the country.
