Sounds like a match for you, but I could be wrong. Legacy status will definitely help you along with your strong ACT score. However, your extracurriculars seem weak to me. Nothing that really stands out. Make your essays strong, and you should get accepted.

^ Wharton is a match for no one.

That said, your numbers are great. The problem in my mind is that I don’t see any activities that you are passionate about in your ECs. I could be wrong, in that you just didn’t explain them that way in your description. If you expressed a passion in your application, your chances are above average. If you didn’t show a passion for anything, I don’t like your chances. Wharton is a crapshoot, so I can’t guarantee admissions for anyone.

Your legacy, especially as an ED applicant, will help a LOT.

Hey dfree, not to hijack this thread, but what do you think about passions that show up relatively late in a high school career? I became passionate about what I want to do in life just last summer, and referred to the experience in one of my essays…

Dude, a passion is a passion. If you expressed the fact that you figured out what you loved and that you plan to continue it in college, I’m sure it’s fine. I’m not so sure about this, but I think it would be beneficial to have demonstrated your passion through activities in order to justify that your passion does exist. I bet if you explained how you came to some life changing epiphany about your passion over the summer they would love it.

I definitely have activities to back it up… I was just thinking that an activity that’s been running for 2 years looks better than an activity that’s been running for 4.5 months (my nonprof) That being said, a passion is a passion, and I’m glad I’ve found one this early in life.

That’s great! I’m sure creating your own nonprof will go over great. I wish you the best of luck on Friday!

dude, this guy is in. great scores + good EC’s + legacy = can’t fail.

Thanks. You too!
