Recommendations:
My Grade 11 Core French Teacher: she really helped me with acclimating to the new school system in Canada, she is like a friend to me and is a French professor also; received the top mark in French at my school which was in her class
Grade 11 Chem teacher: also like a friend to me, was always in her room for chem during lunch and after school
Counselor Rec: I helped her a lot with students applying to the US for college in this way we got to know each other better; I read the recommendation and I thought it was good
Essays:
Common app essay I wrote about how I thought I would lose my sense of self by moving from TN which was all I had ever known, but now that I live in Canada I have gained a stronger sense of who I am
Why Yale: wrote about how I admire the liberal arts education at Yale because for my first two years in high I was under a curriculum in high school that was liberal arts also, also how I admire the research opportunities and shopping periods for classes at Yale
Yale supplements: I wrote about how a topic that is important to me is equality, and a topic that interests/intellectually exciting to me is how producers use all these nuances to create their music, and how the complexity in how the music is made differs from genre to genre
For the Yale engineering essay, I wrote about how I gained my interest for BME by watching my favorite anime called Fullmetal Alchemist when I was younger and also research that has come out in the medical community, and I also highlighted how the Yale campus can give me research opportunities, etc.
Thanks for taking the time to read this! I have read so many so I finally decided to make my own. Good luck to everyone in your college admissions process!
