ACT-33 (I got this score without preparing for it and plan to retake after studying)
I got a 184 on the PSAT this year and plan to study to try for National Merit.
- 1 AP class freshman year and 1 AP class sophomore year (I plan on taking 4 AP classes junior year and 2 AP and 2 dual credit senior year)
Extracurriculars:
Member of varsity drill team since freshman year
Competitive dance freshman and sophomore year
Community service organization since freshman year
Many hours spent assisting and substitute teaching at a dance studio
This summer I am doing an internship with a non profit that helps my school district that involves data entry and other office work, and helping organize a major fundraiser
At this point I have over 100 community service hours
I also got into National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society at the end of my sophomore year
My junior and senior year I will be taking a class where I go to elementary schools and mentor the younger students.
I have not decided what I want to major in yet but some of the schools I am interested in are Vanderbilt, Duke, UCLA, NYU, and UNC which I know are difficult to get into. Any advice for ways I could improve my chances of getting into these schools would be greatly appreciated.
