Bentley is need aware, so it is in your favor that money is not an issue. Let them know that you are full pay.
Level of interest is important to Bentley, so do everything you can to show interest. Do an official visit. Request an interview. Ask if you can meet with a department head or other faculty member in your area of interest.
Definitely ED. It’s another way of showing interest and their acceptance rate for ED is high. They may defer you to RD because they want to see your first semester grades before making a decision, so do everything you can this term to Ace as many of your classes as you can this term.
Your guidance counselor is the best source of information for how successful students with your grades have been getting into Bentley. Ask what your class rank is. Most students who have been accepted at Bentley are in the top quarter of their class.
Your SAT is a plus, but it is not an important factor for admission to Bentley. 80% of this year’s freshman class didn’t even submit standardized test scores.
You might want to look into Bryant in Rhode Island as a back up. It’s very similar to Bentley and has drawn increasing interest in recent years. They’ve been investing a lot in the campus and it seems like an attractive alternative for your interests.
Unfortunately not opened to other colleges (unless Merrimack rejects me) I plan on commuting, and no other good business schools are close enough to home. Thanks for the thoughts though
I want more of an academically prestigious school. I’m not really interested in a lot of the campus life stuff, more a good education with a lot of job and internship support. It also has an equestrian team, which is very important to me.
If OP wants to do accounting, Bentley’s “where” matters a lot. Especially now that firms are tightening on Associates. Especially in Boston. Bentley grads dominate at my Big 4. Can’t think of too many Merrimack College types. Not saying you can’t a job from other places, but Bentley Carrie’s a lot of weight.
But Bryant does well also, especially in our PVD office. It’s unfortunate that OP won’t consider that option. But I actually think your chances are pretty good being a legacy full-pay ED.
From the post I can narrow down where the student lives. Going to Bentley and living at home is a great alternative to the available CCs if money isn’t an issue.
