3. Maryland (EA)
4. USC (EA), with hopes for a transfer program opportunity due to triple legacy . ( they sometimes give legacy a transfer program where they can take a year abroad then come to usc) (California)

What does this mean? And which USC?

Sorry California. Applying behavioral economics and psychology.

Do you have a college budget from your parents? Are these college affordable?

Does this mean precalculus?

Out of state competitive public flagships are generally a reach. Do you have any targets and safeties on your list as well?

No it is stats. Just not AP. I took precalc last year

I am blessed to say I do not have a budget

That’s wonderful. Please please thank your parents and give them a HUGE hug. Some families wouldn’t be full pay even if they can be. This is a wonderful gift your parents are giving you.

I do! I just feel like these are my favorites, and I believe I will get into most of my other schools.

I do not see a safety on this list. Do you have safeties that you are applying to?

What is your home state?

I just didn’t put them on list. I am not from any of those states.

I would also like to add that my GPA would be a lot higher if I had not had the circumstances in which I did sophomore year. It was unavoidable. However, I am thankful for the additional info section on the Common App! It has been between 3.6 and 3.8 all other semesters.

You need to add schools - a Bama or Auburn for your UGA/UF.

A Delaware for UMD.

A Syracuse or even easier U Denver for USC.

You can apply to your list but you need an assured and these are unlikely with UMD most likely.

Good luck

For an economics major in college, you will likely have to take statistics (typically at least AP statistics level, sometimes more advanced or calculus based) and calculus (although a less rigorous one for business and social science majors may be offered).

If you want to go on to PhD study in economics, much more math and statistics will be needed.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it. I applied to Business Admin. at UF due to my math level.

Business will have similar math and statistics requirements as economics at the typical undergraduate level.

Ah ok! Well, I guess I can hope! I do really like my essays for UF, so who knows? Maybe I’ll get in… maybe not. I was just accepted to Auburn and invited to apply to the honors college there, so that’s nice.

I actually applied to Auburn and got my decision back super early. I was accepted! I was also invited to apply to the honors college. Maybe I’ll be a tiger. Who knows? I guess all I can do is hope for the best.

See - that’s great.

So if you like Auburn and it’s affordable, then you’re fine. You can add more as I suggested or not - because you have a place to land.

If you get into another from your list (without applying to any more), then you’ll have a choice. If you don’t, you have Auburn.

btw - there are kids that will choose Auburn over every school on your list every single day.

Best of luck.

UF doesn’t admit by major.
