@WayOutWestMom , Does ED makes any difference in BSMD /DO program ?

Or ED is only for undergrad program ?

BS/MDs are regular admission because the decision for admission to the MD portion of the program only happens in the spring, long after ED admission decisions have been made.

Applying ED to a specific university would require your child to sign a binding contract that prohibits them from applying to any other universities, including other BS/MD programs, unless their application has been officially rejected during the ED decision process

Applying ED will also require your child to attend that university for undergrad if accepted during ED even if NOT accepted to the BS/MD program.

I don’t think this is true? D19 got accepted to her second choice program at her ED school and it wasn’t binding to accept that because it wasn’t her first choice. However, if she wanted to, she had to commit at the same time as the ED acceptances were due (I think this was only a few days to decide).

Not saying it’s not, but they would have to make a decision about attending the ED school months before they’ll find if they are accepted into the BS/MD program. And in the meantime, an ED application prevents them from applying to other BS/MD/DO programs, most of which have an application deadline in the Nov 1- Nov 15 range.
