Chance me: HS junior, 4.0 UW, 1570 SAT, International, Asian female, Biology/Public Health, Yale REA

Indiana University could be a good cheap safety for all of the majors you’ve mentioned, but you can’t do engineering there.

Biology, biomedical engineering and public health are all in different schools at Rutgers. So OP would have to apply to be admitted as an internal transfer student to the destination school. Each school has different transfer requirements that are outlined on their website.

I only have second hand knowledge of all this, but I’ve heard transferring into RBS is competitive and therefore not guaranteed. SAS, SOE and SPPP are supposedly easier. But engineering requires a lot of classes, so transferring might result in an additional year at Rutgers.

for LoRs: I’m thinking getting one from my math teacher and one from history. I believe all of them will be pretty strong and supportive.

I have the head of the USABO team at my school but we don’t have many people participating so I guess that doesn’t count. I did all the math comps and ISEF on my own. And thank you for you advice on affordabilities, I will reconsider about the schools.

Thanks for your advice! Yes, I’m probably looking for a career path that involves both bio/bioengineering/neuroscience and business.

I am already a junior and I’m taking the three APs in May, 2024. Thank you!
