Essays/Teacher Recommendations: They’ll be good

Thank you for reading 감사합니당~~ 谢谢

My dad left me isn’t an income bracket… Your mom’s current income bracket and dad if you’re his dependent… No one cares if she is gonna retire unless you write about it in your essay.

You dont even speak 4 languages… or you don’t have proof for it anyway. Go take the SAT tests for all of those and that is amazingly impressive… saying it means nothing and one month immersion doesn’t get you there.

Being from China is NOT a hook. Normally it is a disadvantage.

Do not get a rec from someone just because they are famous… you’re much better off getting it from someone that really knows you.

Now to the good parts… goood SAT score. Good ECs but nothing stands out. Your GPA and IB scores are stellar too!

I’m not going to give you a chance because I’m by no means an expert, but there are things you can work on and things that are currently good.

You can’t get an additional recommendation from someone who doesn’t know you. You are much better getting one from someone who can’t write great things about you.

I agree. Try getting a recommendation from somebody that knows you quite well (like one of your sports or club leaders) as it gives admissions a better conception of who you are. I’d definitely say you have a chance at Harvard, but it’s so selective that there’s no guarantee, especially since your an international. Congratulations on what you’ve accomplished thus far and good luck!

Chance me back?
UChicago / UCLA / JHU / UW- Madison / Rochester (WILL CHANCE BACK IF LEFT LINK!!!) is the title

Very good chance in my opinion, but I really would not know your true chance at those schools since most are so competitive that its a blind shot for almost everyone.

Excellent stats but you’re ECs kinda make you look like the very common (stereotyped) Asian applicant lol. You’ll most likely get into at least one of those schools. Good luck!

Harvard(SCEA): reach
Dartmouth(ED): reach(You can’t do both ED and SCEA. Choose either one)
Princeton: reach
Johns Hopkins: reach(doesn’t meet full need. Not really worth applying I think)
Yale:reach
Tufts: reach
Brown:reach
U of Chicago :reach
NYU: low reach, and it’s not worth applying because their FA is awfu;
Trinity C: reach

What are your “other safeties”?

Except Ivy leagues, besides your stereotypical ECs(unfortunately) due to your need, all of your school choices will be hugely difficult competitions.

I hope you have some back up plans. Message me if you need help.

P.S. I am also a native Korean, and a college student
