You are well qualified – but the majority of colleges on your list must be considered a reach for any unhooked applicant as they get many more applications from well qualified candidates than they have spots available.
yeah im applying to a&m and mainly applying to reach schools as they are the only ones worth going out of state for. would it be worth considering ed anywhere?
Not assured frosh admission to the engineering division, and also has secondary admission to major (3.75 college GPA to have assured secondary admission).
Based on my experience guiding CS applicants, I suspect you’ll get into CMU if you ED.
However, it is very much a “fit” school. So make sure you research it well to determine if you’ll be comfortable with the environment. Definitely visit, if you haven’t already.
Congratulations on having a competitive profile. Since the UC’s are test blind, your excellent SAT score will not be used for admissions or scholarship consideration, only for course placement.
All 3 UC’s on the list are Reach schools.
UC Berkeley’s CS admit rate was 1.9%
UCLA’s CS admit rate was 3.1%
UC San Diego’s admit rate was estimated at around 5%.
I believe you will have better options than the UC’s especially if submitting your SAT score and probably much more affordable than $75K/year to attend.
