I think your list reads a lot better on this try.
But I still say…your reaches are very reachy. There are a lot of fine colleges between UGA and all of those reach schools…where you might have a more realistic chance of acceptance.
Can you name any off the top of your head? I’m mainly looking for east coast. preferably in a place where its not EXTREMELY cold like Umich.
Well…you have two public universities in GA that could work out. Are you interested in additional public universities elsewhere…or smaller schools? Or what?
@momsearcheng might have some very good suggestions.
I believe you have already gotten the info about University of Alabama.
I’ve already been accepted to University of Alabama.
So…you have two safety schools under your belt. Great.
It’s up to you to decide whether to add additional colleges, or just apply to all those reaches.
Your ECs look more realistic to me too.
If you liked Case, Rochester would be a good school to add as a match (albeit it is cold/snowy). For milder weather- Elon is great for premed and would be a likely school for you.
was it just kenya that made my EC’s unrealistic? because a bunch of people in the other replies were saying that 402 hours of medical shadowing is impossible, but somehow I managed to do it…
since I already have my safeties sorted out, I’m probably going to just apply for reaches and shoot my shot… doesn’t hurt to try.
That’s fine. If you have the time to do great applications, then it’s fine. You already have a couple of colleges you can attend, and you know…students from those colleges DO apply to medical schools!
If the 400 hours was over the course of 4 years of high school, that sounds doable to me.
I think most posters were reacting to what you said you were permitted to do in Kenya.
I think you should stop asking this. Posters on this thread have answered this question ad nauseum . Read again and you will see.
I think you have a bunch of reaches, but if you are satisfied with your safeties then it’s ok.
This list is better. I questioned the 402 hours of shadowing but you said you did it.
IIRC you said you had already applied to some of your colleges. Did this include these reach schools…or are those the ones yet to be done.
