You have a strong profile – one where a student should be able to expect multiple acceptances – however you need to be realistic. It is great to have a few reaches, but (unless you would be thrilled to attend UTD) I’d suggest you seek out match and safety schools based on your academic stats and current SAT score that you would be excited to attend.
That said, being outside the top 10% in your class and 1400 SATs I don’t see many feasible options on your current application list.
I would add SMU, TCU and A&M. I think you will probably get in to all 3. I also think Fordham is a great add and a solid target. If you want to replace some of your high reaches with slightly less reachy reaches…consider Villanova and Boston College…both are still reaches but their acceptance rates are in the teens vs. the single-digit acceptance-rate-schools of most of the schools on your current list. Good luck!
U Denver would be safe and depending on career goals, is a strong school.
U Richmond given no cost issues is another as would U Miami, William & Mary, Tulane - all reaches but less reachy.
As I don’t think OP has shared final goals, it’s too hard to know what will work but for IB look into IBIS at ASU (in addition to IU if the criteria still fits when announced).
But until @austinaut shares their plans (if they have), it’s just a guessing game but A&M, Houston, and SMU/TCU/Trinity would all be great in state options fir finance in general.
As a current Texas resident, I am going to also apply to A&M, SMU, UNT, and U of H. My dream school is UT Austin, and I would love to go there. if anyone has any tips, please let me know.
Wealth Management - you can do from anywhere. My daughter’s bf is doing - from U Denver. If you look at different firms, you’ll see their Wealth Managers come from the directional/San Angelos to elite and all in between. Financial Analyst - most anywhere too - although that’s a wide/general term.
IB is obviously a bit different so take a look at ASU IBIS that I posted above as an easier and you’ve seen other suggestions - the Fordhams of the world. You can also look at the target lists - just for more ideas - but there’s no absolutes - people get into those roles from a variety of schools but obviously many do much better than others. I put two below - the Peak list is longer - but appears two years old.
Are you taking Calc at all - non-AP? That will be a hinderance at some top schools if not.
If you want to stay in Texas, you have lots of options - U of H Bauer is a great school as is A&M and SMU. Trinity is great for smaller. If you google the school and Investment banking + linkedin, you’ll find some folks - you might reach out and ask about their experience and their path to get where they are from each school. In addition to UH, it’s the same with Trinity and A&M as well as TCU and SMU. That will give you some Texas options. More a reach but Rice would seem a fit for you to near home.
If they do not change their direct admit gpa to higher than 3.8, then IU-Kelley would be ideal to explore all aspects of business and easier admit than the other reach schools on the list. If your transcript has a weighted gpa higher than 3.8, it would be definitely helpful for direct admission as there are rumors that they will revise the gpa requirements higher.
Since you are a TX resident in a competitive HS,I expect your guidance counselor will be able to advise you on your chances for UT and other TX schools based on your school’s history.
