Many of these schools will be VERY tough if you don’t EA.

Neither of your parents have a degree in any country? If they do, you may want to verify each school’s definition of first gen.

Agree that where it’s possible, you should apply EA to the state schools. I’d expect some offers out of that list. Others will be hard as an out of state/international even if you do EA.

General question- do US colleges look at first gen as a bump factor when considering international students?

I don’t believe so. I missed the student is international. OP, you live abroad? What is your budget? These schools are unlikely to offer significant aid to an international applicant.

Was confirming that this is someone who is applying from abroad. Regardless, I think OP needs to clarify location, budget, First Gen status.

Someone on a visa and even on a green card might describe themselves the same way. I bring it up because the list is very unusual for an international applicant.

Private school, so possibly a US style international school. There was a few in the country I came from.

If he’s on a visa he counts as an international student anyway. Green card is domestic.

Either way, it doesn’t change the fact that FA is unlikely from that list.
