1)Internship
From May 1st -15th, 2023, I embarked on a valuable internship at Harra Polypack, a
prominent manufacturing company. My internship involved several key
responsibilities:
â—Ź Understanding the Production Process: My primary task was to plan a process to
achieve the production of 5,000 bags per day. This deepened my appreciation for
the intricacies of manufacturing, including quality control, logistics, and production
optimization.
â—Ź Participating in Marketing Department Meetings: This gave me a comprehensive
understanding of the business. It allowed me to appreciate the strategies and
decision-making processes essential for promoting products and meeting customer
demands.
â—Ź Understanding Cross-Functional Roles: I explored how various departments
interacted and collaborated to ensure the seamless operation of the business. Which
taught me the importance of effective communication and teamwork in a corporate
setting.
2)Online Courses
In my pursuit of continuous learning, I have undertaken several online courses that
have broadened my horizons and equipped me with valuable skills:
â—Ź The Complete Data Science Bootcamp and Statistics as a Tool in Data
Analysis with Business Intelligence:
â—Ź Chess: Skills of Beginnings and Ending Tricks: My fascination with chess led
me to explore this course, where I honed my chess skills.
3)Community Service
During my Grade 11 vacation, I dedicated my time to volunteering at the Karma
Foundation, an NGO committed to uplifting the lives of underprivileged children. My
responsibilities during this period included:
â—Ź Identifying Areas of Need: I actively sought out localities with significant
number of illiterate children, recognizing the importance of addressing
educational disparities.
● Meeting Children’s Needs: I assessed the specific needs of the children,
which included providing them with essential supplies such as notebooks,
stationery, and desks.
â—Ź Teaching Hindi Alphabet: Armed with a blackboard and online resources, I
assumed the role of a teacher, teaching the basics of the Hindi alphabet to
these eager young learners.
â—Ź Fostering Motivation: To keep the children motivated and engaged in learning,
I organized cricket games
â—Ź Enrolling Students in Government Schools: I assisted interested students in
enrolling in local government schools, ensuring they had access to formal
education.
*Debate and Speech: Advocacy and Eloquence
Throughout my academic journey, I have actively participated in Model United
Nations (MUNs). My dedication to public speaking and debate has garnered
recognition in the form of awards:
â—Ź My outstanding performance in MUNs was recognized with a High
Commendation Award.
â—Ź In appreciation for my outstanding performance in debate and public
speaking. I received the Special Mention Award: twice
â—Ź For my eloquence and persuasive speaking abilities, I received a verbal
mention award two times.
4)Foreign Language Proficiency
In my 9th and 10th grades, I undertook the challenge of learning the Spanish
language. I enrolled in Culture Station’s Spanish program and, upon completion,
achieved certification in B2 level. This experience not only broadened my cultural
horizons but also enhanced my ability to communicate with a diverse global
community.
5)Sports Leadership
In the 9th grade, I led my football team to the semi-finals of the prestigious Reliance
Football Cup. Additionally, I was honored with the title of “Best Goalkeeper of the

Congrats on the Penn State main campus acceptance! You’ve got a solid option there. Davis is a maybe, Irvine is a reach.

As for the rest of them, it’s a crap shoot. I’d say Mich is a reach, UIUC and Va Tech are probably yes, UW mad and UW Seattle are maybes, and unlikely on all your reaches.

But relax, it really doesn’t matter at this point, since Penn State is a perfectly fine option, and you’re in! Plus your family can pay for it.

Congratulations. You have one sure thing already in the accepted column.

I agree with others…Michigan is a reach. But it’s a possibility.

Please keep us posted on your other acceptances.

Penn State is likely as good a US name as there is worldwide - or can’t be far off.

No way U MIchigan is likely but Va Tech and UW are possible. Wisconsin might be a reach.

Agreed with your reaches.

Good luck.

Thank you for you inference

Thank you

Hi guys, I just got deferred from USC, ngl I expected that to happen.

Still means you’re in the game.

Penn State is a great name. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Sorry to hear that, but that was the most likely outcome. USC received just over 40k EA apps. Accepted about 2,950 today, deferred all the rest. (No one gets denied in ea).

So those 38k or so students move to RD, in addition to the about 40k RD apps USC has received. That means for RD there are about 78k apps in the mix and USC has said they will accept roughly another 4,600 in RD for fall admission. They will also accept some number for a guaranteed transfer plan. So, I would definitely not count on USC, and move on psychologically. Maybe it happens, but most likely won’t.

Continued good luck thru the process.
